A Renovation, Carefully Sequenced
A Renovation, Carefully Sequenced
Early involvement allowed us to look beyond the kitchen itself and consider how each stage of the renovation would affect the finished room. From preparing existing walls and working over the tiled floor to carefully sequencing the new flooring and kitchen installation, the project was planned around achieving a cohesive finish with minimal unnecessary disruption.

Kitchen Install & Renovation

We became involved with this project before work began, initially providing professional advice on how best to prepare the existing room for its new kitchen. That early involvement allowed us to look at the renovation as a whole rather than treating the kitchen installation as an isolated stage — and ultimately led to RO managing the project.
The property presented several considerations. Much of the downstairs had an existing tiled floor, while sections of the room had dry-lined walls. Because the new plumbing and electrical first-fix works required access through areas of the finished walls and ceiling, we recommended skimming the ceiling and several walls afterwards. It added another stage to the programme, but created a far more consistent foundation for the finished room.
We took a similarly considered approach to the floor. Rather than removing the existing tiles and creating considerable additional disruption and remedial work to the subfloor, we were able to prepare and level the existing surface before installing the new flooring over it.
The sequence of installation was equally important. The kitchen was installed initially without the final end panels and plinths, allowing the new floor to be laid first. Those finishing components could then be fitted neatly down onto the finished flooring rather than the flooring simply terminating against them. It's a relatively small detail, but exactly the sort of decision that influences how complete a finished kitchen feels.
The programme was also built around our clients. They approached us in early spring but wanted the renovation to begin later in the year to fit around their own commitments, and they chose to undertake the decorating themselves. We therefore incorporated a suitable window within the schedule for them to complete their work before kitchen installation commenced.
The result was a significant transformation, but just as importantly, one where the individual stages were considered before work began. Good preparation isn't always visible in the finished photograph — but you can often see its effect.

"My wife and I ordered a new kitchen and Rowen was recommended to us by the supplier. Our project was a complete revamp and overhaul of the current design and required plumbing, electrical, plastering as well as the kitchen fitting itself. We also wanted new flooring throughout the whole floor that the kitchen was on.
From the initial discussions with Rowan, it was clear that he was highly knowledgeable, professional and cared about the job in hand. We got a great feeling from Rowan from the get go and decided to use him for the project. An additional benefit for us was that Rowan was able to take on all aspects of the project. Rowan was able to project manage the whole process and provided a detailed schedule of works for when we could expect each stage of the project to be undertaken and who by.
Once work started, it was clear that his trades team are second to none. Every day, our house was left clean and tidy, the work was done far above our expectations and we were left with a feeling of these trades car about our house as if it were their own. Once the remedial works were completed, the kitchen was fitted swiftly and professionally.
The finished product looks absolutely stunning and we cannot fault a single part of the process. If you are looking to have a kitchen installation, go straight for Rowan and his team."
