The Considered Frontal Swap

The Considered Frontal Swap

A functional but uninspiring kitchen that didn't need replacing — it needed reconsidering. After carefully assessing the existing cabinetry, we retained what was worth keeping and transformed the room with new fronts, panels, worktops, handles and finishing details, creating a warmer kitchen that feels entirely its own.

When our client moved into the property, the existing kitchen was functional and structurally sound, but its neutral palette left the space feeling somewhat cold and impersonal. Rather than assuming replacement was the answer, we carried out a thorough survey of the existing cabinetry to establish whether it provided a suitable foundation for a frontal swap. Once we were confident it did, we worked with our client to explore colours, finishes and details that would give the room a completely different character.

The transformation included new doors and drawer fronts, end panels, plinths, handles and worktops, followed by the finishing details needed to bring everything together. By retaining the parts of the kitchen that were still performing well, we were able to create a significant change without unnecessarily removing perfectly serviceable cabinetry.

For us, that's an important part of offering frontal swaps responsibly. Not every existing kitchen is a suitable candidate, and we're prepared to say so. Covering tired or failing cabinetry with new fronts may improve its appearance temporarily, but it doesn't address what's underneath. We'd rather give an honest assessment at the beginning and recommend replacement where appropriate than sell an upgrade we don't believe will stand the test of time.

Here, the foundations were right. The result is a kitchen that feels warmer, more personal and dramatically different from the room we first walked into — achieved by changing what needed changing and retaining what didn't.

"Recommended Kitchen Fitter - Great value for money- We couldn’t be happier with the work carried out on our kitchen. The transformation is fantastic – our upgraded cupboards and new worktops have completely refreshed the space to a very high standard.

From start to finish, the level of service was exceptional. Everything was completed efficiently without compromising on quality, and the attention to detail really shows in the finished result. They worked quickly but carefully, always maintaining a clean and tidy workspace, which made the whole process stress-free for us.

What really stood out was the personal service – friendly, professional, and clearly committed to doing the best possible job. We felt confident and well looked after throughout.

We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable, skilled, and trustworthy kitchen fitter."
